Summer Runs

If you are interested, we will be meeting on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to run. These runs are informal; you can find groups of people that are at a similar point and run with them. Each run is over within an hour. The length will vary depending on your ability.

• Tuesday: 6PM at the Bent of the River Audubon Park, 185 East Flat Hill Road, Southbury, CT. We meet in the parking lot. There are many shaded trails to run on.
• Thursday: 6PM at the Middlebury Greenway. We'll meet at the Chase Road parking lot. This is almost across the street from Ledgewood Park in Middlebury. We will run either to Memorial Middle School or Meadoview Park, do some conditioning exercises, and then run back.
• Saturday: 9AM at the Bridal Trail in Southbury. There is a small parking lot near the Southford Firehouse, next to a large garage structure for the Bridal Trail (approximately 86 Strongtown Rd, Southbury). You need to park on the left hand side of the garage. You cannot park in front of the garage or in their driveway. This is a private business and they don't appreciate us parking in front of their garage. This is a long, flat, shaded trail that allows us to run for a while.

Tuesday Run Canceled

Tuesday's run at the Audubon is canceled. We'll be running on Thursday at the Middlebury Greenway.

Summer Runs 2010

Good morning,
I hope that all of you enjoyed your first week of vacation. Although summer has just begun, it is not too early to think about getting into running shape. Typically, a group of us get together on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings to run. These optional runs are informal; typically you find a group of people to run with and run with them. Some people will run for half an hour, some for forty five minutes, and a few will run for an hour. It depends on where you are in your training. Also, these runs are open to anybody. If you have friends or family that would like to join us, they can. More information on these runs will be shared with you later this weekend.

If you are unable to run with us, you should start running on your own in order to make the beginning of the season easier on yourself.

Finally, sometime in August we will be having a course clean up. There is always brush and debris on the trail. We also need to fix the new section of the trail to make it safer. I'll give you more information as we get closer to August.
